Mountain Biking the Bothies of Cazorla.
This 7 night break includes 3 nights staying in the parks newly renovated refugios. The first two nights are spent at the hotel, as are the last two, but in-between, its wilderness and sleeping bags... The bothy tour starts from the town of Cazorla and heads to the high plateaus via the trails used by the Marquis (the resistance movement fighting until the 1950's in their last stand against the Franco regime). The first day takes in some of the least travelled areas, and as a result, the best place to see the wildlife the park is renown for. Its a tough day with some 3,000m of climbing in just 70km, but the scenery is dramatic and the effort rewarding.
Day two wanders across the high plains, passing through verdant pastures and vast open skies before entering the limestone gorges that cut through this high mountain range and we head to the second nights stop over in the heart of the ancient pine forests.
To get to the third Bothy we traverse several valleys and ridges before re-entering the karstic plains of the Seguras, and making camp in the midst of rolling hills.
All your overnight kit is transported for you, and food and provisions supplied (clearly not gourmet, but solid hot food).
