Great Mountain Bike Routes in Andalucia - GR7 2010 - Day Six - Los Tolmos
Friday was spent wandering around Caravaca de la Cruz, sight seeing, gift shopping and drinking coffee.
A great tapas lunch of calamares a la plancha, mejillones, magra, setas, anchoas, and cerveza provided a great end to a “grand tour”. Even getting lost in the mountains was now seen in retrospect as adding a little salt to the trip: not great on its own, but makes the patatas taste even better. All ended well, and everyone appeared to have a blast. The company was great, many broad smiles and amiable conversation. It was a privilege to show off the parts of Spain that so very few others ever see, and I enjoy so much. A big thank you to Gary for championing the trip and to Brian, Simon, Mark and Tony for making the trip so enjoyable, and not least to Lucas and Conor for their tireless efforts in supporting us so well with food, water, and the comforting sight of the Land Rover when we needed it most. Here’s to the next adventure. Camino Santiago anyone?
